Holiday Gift Guide + HUGE GIVEAWAY!

Day 16: Nail Design - Bourbon Glitz- Confetti polish - Milani 3DHolographics

Hello again everyone! Hope you are enjoying your day. Here in Pennsylvania it is cold, chilly and rainy. BLAH. Not my favorite weather, as i was not able to complete my landscape photo shoot  [i take pictures as well. who knew? ;)] and so have not done much but stay inside. On the positive note, I was able to devote time to, guess what? Yup, right again! Nail polishes of course. : ) :)

After looking through my polishes I found the perfect shade of dark, wine and almost burgundy. It was instant attraction! I knew I was going to use this polish, perfect for winter, on my nails. I ended up loving the color but wanting a little bit more. So I improved it a bit by adding a nice french manicure like tip color using the Milani Holographic nail polish. Below is the step-by-step technique as well as details on what i sued to create this GORGEOUS winter manicure.

Technique Used:
1. Orly base coat
See the glitter and sparkle? Wonderful holo!

2. Two coats of Confetti polish in: 'masquerade ball'
3. Seche Vite top coat
Wanted a bit more so
4. Added line at tip in 2 coats of Milani 3d Holographic in: '
5. Seche Vite top coat AND DONE!

Thats all you need to create this wonderful winter inspired design.

Isn't the wine like color just divine!?!
'
Shot with Milani Holo polish so you can clearly see the color. Its a purplish glittery tone with a tinge of pink.

Day 15: All about the Essie nail polishes!!

So today, I received my Essie polishes ordered from Ebay at LESS than $4 bucks a polish. From the usual $8 bucks a bottle for Essie polish, I say that's quite a steal!! What do you think? I notice people who use Essie, stick with Essie like loyal fans. I don't know what all the hype is about as I have not yet had the "privilege" to use Essie nail polish. Is Essie, the high class brand of the drug stores? I shall find out and make another blog about my results. I just couldn't wait to share these with you so here they are!!

Polishes #1-4 on left >>>>
1. Saturday disco fever
2. Lil boa' peep
3. Shake, rattle and roll ( though 2 and 3 look almost identical they are not)
4. Pure pearlfection

aren't these colors gorgeous!!!

The orange color is going to be fun to use for nail art and dotting! Not so much for just an entire nail, its too summery for the winter. We shall see! :)
When I apply these on my nails, i will post and update you on how the polishes look on the nails versus how they look in the bottles.

no matter how many photos i took, they came out looking alike
These 2 polishes that look metallic have a magnet on top, excited to use them. I'm now wishing I had more hands to paint so I could test out my ever growing polish collection.

I have gone from about 10 polishes to over 50 polishes!!! Total polish addict. How did this happen?
Oh well, I'm in knee deep folks and there's no going back. When i look over at sad, cracked, pathetic looking nails, I want to call the glaze police! He He :) If there ever was such a thing over 2/3's of women would be in prison. Such a shame. :)

Day 14: Green Bay Packer nail design colors - LA Colors, Nicole by OPI

Sunlight
Hello everyone! Today I tried my hand at multiple design techniques on various nails. Using Nicole by OPI in Khloe had a little Lam-lam( dark green color) and LA Colors color craze in BCC 570 (yellow gold color).

Technique:
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT
1. Pinky: small dotting tool 3 down middle using dark  green color.
2. Ring finger: dark color with golden yellow dots
Notebook reinforcers cut in half.
3. Middle finger: first coat in golden yellow. Then using notebook hole reinforcers, cut in half and place on lower end of nail in half moon shape. Then apply dark green color over rest of nail. BE SURE to push down the end of the reinforcers so when applying other coat, color doesn't leak in.
4. Pointer finger: apply golden yellow on half nail- 2 coats. LET DRY. Apply dark green color - 2 coats
5. Thumb: apply dark green color 2 coats. Once dry I used Salon effects stamping plate in round design. (sorry not sure what its called and plates don't have numbers)
REMEMBER: ALWAYS, ALWAYS BASE COAT & TOPCOAT :) :)

Now hear me out everyone. I honestly did not try to combine the green bay packers colors. UGH! Not a fan of them BUT my lovely husband pointed it out and there you have it. What a girl to do? I worked so hard with the designs and waiting time, I kept them on secretly hoping no one would notice the color combo.

Enjoy! If you recreate it, please upload and show us. Experiment with techniques and have fun. Comment, reply, let me know you're following my blog. Really helps when I'm super busy and still make the effort to blog and show you my creations.

Day 12: Steel Gray - Nail Design

Hello again. Today i wanted to showcase my lovely steel gray nails. They did not start out this way but with the help of Revlon Matte Top Coat, steel gray came into existence.

Technique:
1. Base coat with Strong Adhesion Base Coat in China Glaze
2. Applied Revlon Top Speed in: 710 Cloud- 2 coats
3. Applied Revlon Matte Top Coat 790

I wasn't sure what to expect with Matte top coat because its my first time using it. I must say though, I am pleasantly surprised and very pleased with the effect. No shine is very calming to me for some reason. But perhaps its also because I used matte with a gray polish. I shall see how "calming" Matte top coat is when i apply it on something like hot pink polish. :) :)

1. Started with 3 black dots right down the middle using dotting tool i ordered from ebay

2. Used white polish, applied 1 dot on either side of black.

3. LET black dots DRY completely, to avoid streaking, before adding the white dots.

Base Coat, Revlon 710 cloud, Revlon Matte Top Coat

So far my nails have lasted 3 days with no chipping at all! I am noticing the matte effect wearing off on one of my hands, the more dominant one. Will just reapply some more and voila!

To dry my nails I use finishing spray and a blow dryer on cool setting. It takes awhile and I realized I need something faster. So today i just ordered Seche Vite top coat and OPI fast dry drops. Can't wait till they get here! Will keep you all posted once i review them. Until then:
