Day 46: Nail swatches from a fellow nail polish lover

Hello lovelies!!!! I know i have been MIA for sometime, mostly from business and partly because i wasn't sure i should even bother with my blog since i have gained so few followers. That all changed today because of a sincere and sweet soul that i have as an instagram friend. Her Instagram tag is @nailpolishaddict11 or URL http://instagram.com/nailpolishaddict11. She reminded me today that i started this blog, not to compete with the bigwigs of the nail polish community, but to work with them in being another voice to the vastly growing community of nail polish lovers. It is because of some these nail polish goddesses that i developed such a love and respect for nail polish and its many facets.

@nailpolishaddict11, also called Jenn Morgan, helped to put into perspective why i started this nail blog in the first place: to share my journey on all things polish in hopes of touching even one person. She is that one and i am so grateful to her. Please consider checking out her IG and following her. She is a sweet person, a fellow nail polish lover and someone who is just worth knowing. *Muah* to you my dear Jenn Morgan.

In HONOR OF @nailpolishaddict11, i am posting some of her gorgeous swatches and manis below.

Enjoy!

look at the length of those nails!!! *Gush* love them, the polish color and her square tips which I desperately try to do to my own.....Ceramics tends to ruin my efforts more often than not. :/
These glitters are fabulous!!! What a wonderful glitter topper this is.
Loving the stripe work she has going on here. Very symmetrical and even spaced lines. I heart her nail art and skills. You should definitely follow her on instagram *hint hint* :)
Who doesn't love a vibrant pink and some lovely dots???

This blog post is for you Jenn, as a sincere thank you for reminding me that I blog for the sake of sharing my journey not only to grow in numbers.

As always my darlings,

Simply put, it it is nail polish:

  • made by real people
  • in small hand batches
  • custom blended
  • unique polishes
  • FULL OF glitters

"Once you go INDIE, you never go back!"

Polishes used:

Base coat nail polishes in: RED, WHITE AND BLACK.
Glitter topper in: The Gambler. Made by the fabulous Backwoodsnails
Not only do I LOVE it because its so pretty & full of TINY SILVER & RED Glitters with Glitter SPADES,but its also a play on my last name, which is Gamble.

Day 26: Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Polish Swatch

Hello Nail Polish lovers and all my glitzy fans out there! You will surely enjoy today's Nail swatch featuring the lovely Sally Hansen: Gem Crush Series Polish. You can find Sally Hansen nail polish in almost any local drugstore, chain store etc. I have seen these polishes at my local CVS for up to $9 bucks a bottle!!! YIKES! No thanks. I purchased my polishes in an EBAY (oh how i love you Ebay) Sally Hanson auction lot that came with various series i.e Extreme Wear, Complete Salon Manicure,(check out my Simply Divine post for swatch on that) Insta dry, Sugar Coat and these GEM CRUSH babies you see below.

WHICH ONE IS YOUR ABSOLUTE MUST TRY?
Oh look at all these sparkles!!! Do they make you as happy as they do me? I love em all in their own unique way.

Word of Advice:
These polishes are pretty awesome glitters in a clear polish base and are very opaque after just 2 coats.
The nail swatch pictures above are the polishes themselves, 2 coats, no base color, and as you see they are the perfect glitters to wear alone. No need to pair them up with anything, except maybe a nice handbag and a night on the town.

Hope you enjoy.As always,

Have a Grand day and don't forget to GlaZe!

Day 8: Maybelline Color Show Swatches

Hello fellow bloggers and fans. Today i received a package!!! I mean who doesn't love packages right? Its like my birthday when i receive packages. The best part of this package was? You guessed it NAIL POLISHES!! Oh what a grand day it was. :)

I received my eBay order of a set of Maybelline polishes, specifically from the color show collection. All 5 polishes PLUS shipping came out to less than 7 bucks! Now that's what I call bargain shopping. :) Want to know more on how i save money on polishes? Email me, leave a comment, and I will be glad to provide you some tips, links and thrifty ideas.

Moving on. :)

<<< Here are some nail swatches of the 5 polishes i received today. I love the colors and how complementary they are to each other. The picture is very accurate in color and shine of each nail polish. The only exception may be  swatch 1, which is a bit darker in person but its still very accurate. All Swatches were given 2 POLISH COATS except swatch 4: Mesmerizing Magenta, which was thicker than the other polishes and only needed one coat.

Maybelline Color Show Swatches 1-5:

1. Azure Seas 990
2. Lustruous Lime 925
3. Sandstorm 970
4. Mesmerizing Magenta 935
5. Blast of Blue 945

Hope you enjoy the colors as much as i do. Have any of these colors at home? Used any of these to make your own nail designs? If so, please do comment, share to show what these colors can do! :)

Have a grand day, and dont forget to GlazE!

Day 3: Nail Swatches

Day 3: Nail Swatches!
For those who are following me, visiting and hopefully coming to see my blog soon, know that the Day 1, 2, 3 etc that will begin every post is more to help you, the readers, find the posting with more ease. :)

So, yesterday i had this burning urge to make nail swatches of all my polishes. BUT FIRST i needed to get some storage containers to organize my nail polish drawer properly. That led me to Dollar tree (notice a pattern?) where i bought some great pencil box containers, like the ones your parents bought you in elementary school to fit into your little desk. Brings back memories huh? :)

Since i was already at Dollar tree I casually (more like purposely) walked over to the cosmetic aisle. And lo and behold guess what i found?? NAIL POLISHES! Surprise, right? ;) I bought some and then headed out of there back to my cozy, warm home to embark on organizing my collection of all things nails. Once I was satisfies with how neat, orderly, and fixed my nail drawer looked, then came nail swatches.

I painted about 30 nail swatches, numbering them and creating a list (on my ipod) of which polish goes to which numbered nail swatch. It was pretty genius actually BUT the credit goes to the hubby who gave me the brilliant idea. 30 nail swatches was all i could muster because it was over 1am and i just couldn't guarantee that i wouldn't accidentally paint my cat or something for lack or proper eyesight and extreme sleepiness. I do have more than 30 polishes, almost 60 actually and i will paint the rest at another time and post it here for you to see.

Here's a picture of the 30 i have so far. If you would like the list of colors, let me know and ill post it, email it, etc. just for you. :) :)

Have a grand day, and dont forget to GlazE!
