Day 67: Nail polish Indie swatches

Todays post is all about indie polishes. I am going to share with you  some of my gorgeous polishes by Colores de Carol. All of these have been bought by me. ALL OPINIONS are my own, and i am not paid and none of this is pre-scripted. You can trust that my opinion and words, are all coming from me.

Ok. Now the fun part. 100 % macro shots
All links and names of indie makers, will be provided below each picture. ENJOY! :)

Above is Atomic Tangerine "This medium orange base is packed with purple micro bars, hot pink and green hexagonal shape glitter and black diamonds."  (Quoted from coloresdecarol)
I really, really, really, love this orange glitter polish. From the tiny micro bars to the random black diamonds, all of this screams OCTOBER!! I look forward to using this indie polish and maybe add some nail art pumpkins or two. :)
You can find this nail polish, on sale, HERE

Above you have: White Dream by Colores de Carol
It is a clear base polish, filled with white squares, iridescent squares and pearlesecent tiny hexagons. I think, this is the absolute BEST POLISH for a WINTER nail art theme. Oh yes! I shall revel in snowy weather by doing me nails with this beauty. Mhhm. Yes indeed. This polish is also sold out folks :(

Above is: Heart of the ocean by Colores de Carol.
It is a deep, navy jelly packed with holo sparkle that builds with each coat. What a great formula! Super smooth, no mess, no gloop or glop, and an overall fabulous navy blue holographic polish to own.
Unfortunately, this polish is no longer on her website. It was part of the Love's maiden voyage collection but has since been sold out and removed. I am so glad i bought this when i did!!

I hope you enjoyed looking at these macros as much i did! Don't just look, save em, download em, use em as wallpaper and screensavers. Get creative, and make a collage!

Until next time,

Hello Again everyone!! Here are some of the lovely indie polishes I purchased from the wonderful Liquid Glam Lacquer. Wanted to share them with you, so here they are.Click link here to check her indie line

These are the 5ml minis! A great way to buy and try without dishing so much $$$
Macro shot of Luxxe

The one full size i purchased is the bottle in the middle called: "Night Life"

Clearer view of all the micro glitters in this polish. I will have another post soon enough, on how this glitter polish looks swatched with other base coats.

Mini polish in "icey" on LEFT: 5ml bottle RIGHT: macro shot
Last but sure not least is the darling Liquid Glam Laqcuer polish in: peppermint!! I simply adore this polish beyond words!! It is the most beautiful, elegant, simple, yet wintery polish i have tried so far. I love it so much, i painted all 10 fingers that color. And as you know from my other posts and instagrams, i tend to do alot of nail art typically using various colors. But this "peppermint" polish is so stunning I applied it on all 10 FINGERS. No competition necessary :) I remember just staring at my nails all the time.... he he he.

Have you tried Liquid Glam Lacquer polishes?
Which one would you like to see a swatch of?
Any other questions?
PLEASE, PLEASE, COMMENT. I do wish to hear from all of you who stop by.

Day 34: Julie Nail Polish Review - Matte Polish - Rite Aid Store

Hello Darlings! I told you I would have a FULL Reviw on these Thursday, and Thursday it is.

BACKGROUND: I was given this Julie polish by my sister who bought it but didnt realize it was matte polish, which she hates! But who's complaining, thats 1 more polish for me, right? :) :)
So i tried it on and was not wowed by it at all....at first anyways

PROS

*LONG LASTING: seriously the most surprising thing about this polish was how long it lasted. I applied this Julie polish without a top coat and 3 days later it was only BEGINNING to tip wear. This was after a very long 3 days of constant washing and my hands being soaked in water, detergents etc. This BABY had not a DROP of top coat and it still kept its staying POWER! Impressive, I'll say.
*AN ARRAY OF COLORS
*INEXPENSIVE: Im not sure how much my sister paid for it, but given her spending budget these days, I'd say it was no more than $2-3 bucks.

CONS

NOT REALLY MATTE: The polish dries to a slight matte but looks more like a wax finish. The kind of wax look that you see on candlesticks that have dried up wax drips on the side. In my opinion, it is not A TRUE MATTE.
Also, the matte finish wear off.

~If you apply lots of creams, oils, butters etc. to keep your hands in tip top shape, you will be DISAPPOINTED to see how within the same day, the Julie "matte" polish is no longer matte but glossy. :/

WHERES THE NAME? There is no name on the bottle! Like what? I looked ALL OVER the darn thing and was shocked to see that. There's ONLY one other polish brand that does that, LA Colors, and its so RIDICULOUS. Every polish has to have a name to tell what it is but this brand DOES NOT.

Imagine, someone likes your nails and ask what colors that, you say, " I DON'T KNOW." How are you gonna look? Like a dodo or like someone who buys such cheap polish, it doesn't have a name. lol. In any case, an embarrassing situation indeed.

Julie "no name" polish with some embellishments on funky fingers polish in "jawbreaker"
You see how shiny it is? That's definitely NOT matte
I applied a fresh coat on tips of index and pointer. Can you see how its more matte like then the polish on the pinky for example? For whatever reason, the matte look just doesnt last on these.

Hope to hear from you all!!!

Day 23: Funky Fingers nail polish- nail swatch review

Hello everyone!! I hope you're enjoying this lovely snow weather here on the east coast. Here in snowy filled Pennsylvanian, roads are covered, the snow is mounting and outside looks like a life size snow globe. I find days like this to be quite magical. In light of the snow, the millions of falling snowflakes, and my new love for glitter, I created this nail swatch.

Technique:
1. Nail Strengthener
2. China Glaze base coat
3. Funky fingers polish in "jawbreaker" 2-3 coats (depending on the opacity you desire)
4. Seche Vite top coat.

I must say I am very pleased with the gorgeous nail polish! The polish itself has a whitish purple base, filled with an assortment of glitter shapes and sizes. If you like glitters and are ready to try something unique, GET THIS POLISH!!!! I find myself staring at my hands and think of snowflakes and sparkly things.

STORY BEHIND POLISH
When i first saw this polish somewhere online, I knew it was going to be mine someday very soon. (He He) So my research began, with me spending hours scouring the internet in hopes to find it at a good price. I found out that the only store that carries the brand Funky Fingers nail polish is Five Below and this store does not sell their things online. You must go to one of their retail locations to purchase from them. Well, the only Five Below Store close to me is like an hour away. So you know i wasn't going to trek that journey anytime soon.

I settled for the next best thing (don't know why i didn't think of this sooner) EBAY! If you have been following my posts, you can tell how much i HEART Ebay. And guess what??? I found the Funky Fingers nail polish in "jawbreaker" (the one you see in the pics) on my trusty Ebay.

GREAT SELLER
If you're interested in purchasing this polish, I recommend one of the MOST AMAZING AND THOUGHTFUL Ebay sellers I have ever come across. Here name is Tara and she sells FABULOUS polishes at affordable prices.

Hope you enjoyed this post. PLEASE, let me know what you think, if you visit Tara's store and any other things that pop into your head.
