Day 38: Revlon Nail Polish - Popular Nail Swatch Review

Today's post is a simple nail swatch in Revlon nail polish called : "POPULAR 230"

If you notice, my nails are very short now but I had to do it because I could NOT stand how uneven and weird they were. Using my new Crystal nail file (Click here) I filed them down to square bits. I'm looking forward to even, SQUARE nail growth. WE shall see
Picture ABOVE take in natural daylight

My review on this polish:

I like this polish because of the crelly glitter type base BUT i was hoping it would be a bit darker pink. I find, for my skin tone, the polish seems so light pink that it doesn't POP as i was hoping it would. It blends too much with my skin tone. But for $2 bucks, whose complaining.

POLISH WOULD WORK BEST ON:
Caramel, honey and darker skin complexions to really make the pink POP.

Day 35: Liquid Glam Lacquer - Nail Polish Review

Hello Again everyone!! Here are some of the lovely indie polishes I purchased from the wonderful Liquid Glam Lacquer. Wanted to share them with you, so here they are.Click link here to check her indie line

These are the 5ml minis! A great way to buy and try without dishing so much $$$
Macro shot of Luxxe

The one full size i purchased is the bottle in the middle called: "Night Life"

Clearer view of all the micro glitters in this polish. I will have another post soon enough, on how this glitter polish looks swatched with other base coats.

Mini polish in "icey" on LEFT: 5ml bottle RIGHT: macro shot
Last but sure not least is the darling Liquid Glam Laqcuer polish in: peppermint!! I simply adore this polish beyond words!! It is the most beautiful, elegant, simple, yet wintery polish i have tried so far. I love it so much, i painted all 10 fingers that color. And as you know from my other posts and instagrams, i tend to do alot of nail art typically using various colors. But this "peppermint" polish is so stunning I applied it on all 10 FINGERS. No competition necessary :) I remember just staring at my nails all the time.... he he he.

Have you tried Liquid Glam Lacquer polishes?
Which one would you like to see a swatch of?
Any other questions?
PLEASE, PLEASE, COMMENT. I do wish to hear from all of you who stop by.

Day 34: Julie Nail Polish Review - Matte Polish - Rite Aid Store

Hello Darlings! I told you I would have a FULL Reviw on these Thursday, and Thursday it is.

BACKGROUND: I was given this Julie polish by my sister who bought it but didnt realize it was matte polish, which she hates! But who's complaining, thats 1 more polish for me, right? :) :)
So i tried it on and was not wowed by it at all....at first anyways

PROS

*LONG LASTING: seriously the most surprising thing about this polish was how long it lasted. I applied this Julie polish without a top coat and 3 days later it was only BEGINNING to tip wear. This was after a very long 3 days of constant washing and my hands being soaked in water, detergents etc. This BABY had not a DROP of top coat and it still kept its staying POWER! Impressive, I'll say.
*AN ARRAY OF COLORS
*INEXPENSIVE: Im not sure how much my sister paid for it, but given her spending budget these days, I'd say it was no more than $2-3 bucks.

CONS

NOT REALLY MATTE: The polish dries to a slight matte but looks more like a wax finish. The kind of wax look that you see on candlesticks that have dried up wax drips on the side. In my opinion, it is not A TRUE MATTE.
Also, the matte finish wear off.

~If you apply lots of creams, oils, butters etc. to keep your hands in tip top shape, you will be DISAPPOINTED to see how within the same day, the Julie "matte" polish is no longer matte but glossy. :/

WHERES THE NAME? There is no name on the bottle! Like what? I looked ALL OVER the darn thing and was shocked to see that. There's ONLY one other polish brand that does that, LA Colors, and its so RIDICULOUS. Every polish has to have a name to tell what it is but this brand DOES NOT.

Imagine, someone likes your nails and ask what colors that, you say, " I DON'T KNOW." How are you gonna look? Like a dodo or like someone who buys such cheap polish, it doesn't have a name. lol. In any case, an embarrassing situation indeed.

Julie "no name" polish with some embellishments on funky fingers polish in "jawbreaker"
You see how shiny it is? That's definitely NOT matte
I applied a fresh coat on tips of index and pointer. Can you see how its more matte like then the polish on the pinky for example? For whatever reason, the matte look just doesnt last on these.

Hope to hear from you all!!!

Day 33: Nail Art using China Glaze, Rimmel London and more! Alexis Posh

Hi all!!! Today i want to share you with you this lovely manicure, inspired by the recent giveaway I WON (so rare for me) from the China Glaze 2013 Collection. Besides the Gorgeous China Glaze polish, i was also itching to try the geometric stain glass kinda look I saw others use with nail striping stickers.

And thus, Alexis Posh was created. FYI I have this weird thing where I have to NAME my nail art. Not other peoples nail art because if I was 100% recreating something from another nail artist, I would definitely give credit. But nail art that is mine, that i created using techniques and my color inspirations and random doodles, i name.... I wonder what that says about me? Hmm. Anyhoo, the pictures are below.

ENJOY

The China Glaze 2013 Christmas Collection that i WON! :)

Really happy with my first attempt at the Nail striping sticker technique!

So that is the Mani I have to share with you today. Hope you enjoy it. Please leave comment, thoughts, questions, below.

Trust me, you may think your 40-60 watt light bulb is fine but once you try this SmartLight you will notice an IMMEDIATE DIFFERENCE. The Quality, clarity and true daylight is unmatched in my opinion.I found this lamp to be quite wonderful for NAIL ART, taking photos under light, and emitting a true daylight feel. I like the clean look it has and how sturdy the base is, especially helpful when moving the neck of the lamp around.

Day 31: Maybelline Express Care Cuticle Moisturizer - Review

Hi everyone!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful 2014 :) Here in the lovely Gamble residence, Moi (me) has been faithfully shopping all holiday season. I haven't shopped so much in such a short amount of time EVER! Wow did it feel GREAT! Any hoo, hubby and myself want to purchase our very own home so the shopping madness has dies down to a snail pace race. he he. Honestly though, saving for a home is our our 2014 TOP PRIORITY.

Shopping did allow me to get a hold of some wonderful items which i will be sharing with you for months to come (turned into shopaholic all of December. was on the verge of having to join a self-help group. j/k but it was crazy. )

The blog post today is to share with you all a wonderful little item I found on my many trips to Dollartree. If you have been following my blog, you will remember that my VERY 1st BLOG post talked about how the polishes at Dollartree converted me over to become a POLISH AFICIONADO (read more about that in DAy1 blog post)

Enough suspense, by now you probably wondering WHAT IS THIS POST ABOUT ALREADY? I shall leave you in suspense no longer.

Maybelline Express Care Fast Dry Cuticle Moisturizer.

Left pic: Product in package                                        Right pic: Actual product in hand. Standard Nail polish size

What the product claims to do for the cuticles
Applied the cuticle cream which look just like a nail polish stick, on dried unmoisturized hands

Close up: You can see that the cream did moisturize the cuticle area and removed some of the lines

BOTTOM LINE:

  • Great price ($1)
  • Acts like a lotion for cuticles
  • Smells like medicated lotion
  • Contains: Aloe & Vitamin B5
  • Moisturizes the cuticle area

There is nothing I find really fancy or special about this Maybelline Cuticle moisturizer but for the price, YOU CANT BEAT IT. Hope you enjoyed my review. LEAVE COMMENTS PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY HAVING INTEREST IN WHAT I POST. :) :) :) :)

Have a Grand Day and DON'T forget to GlaZe!
